Tell Your Senators to Support the Matthew Shepard Act.
Correct the Court
People For the American Way wants you to sign a petition calling on congressional leaders to support legislation to correct Ledbetter v. Goodyear.
A tortured interpretation of a technical loophole in anti-discrimination law allowed the Bush appointed Roberts Alito Supreme court to deny decades of discrimination because the suit was not brought in 180 days of the first discriminatory paycheck. Congress can correct that statute and overturn the effect of this anti-woman, anti-minority, anti-worker decision. Labels: Labor, People for the American Way, racism, sexism
No Confidence in Gonzales
Stop Liquid Coal
Moveon.org wants you to sign a petition to stop Government mandating and subsidizing coal use and Liquid Coal. In the next two weeks, Congress could vote to double the amount of greenhouse gases America produces from cars and planes. It's the greatest single threat to solving the climate crisis in a decade. Labels: Environment, Moveon.org
Tell Bush not to Veto Stem Cell Research
Support Restoring Habeus Corpus
De-authorize Authorize the War
Don't Let Congress Weaken the Gas Price Gouging Bill
Urge Your Representative to support Renewable Energy
Environment Colorado wants you to sign a petition to join Rep. Mark Udall and Rep. Diana DeGette as cosponsor of the Federal Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard Act (HR 969) This bill will increase our use of homegrown renewable resources like wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass by requiring 20 percent of electricity production to come from these sources by 2020.
Since this is the world wide web, we are including this action for those not lucky enough to be represented by Mark or Diana. Labels: Environment, Environment Colorado
Contact the FCC to Open The Wireless Spectrum II
Contact the FCC to Open The Wireless Spectrum
SavetheInternet.com wants you to contact the FCC. The FCC is on the verge of turning over a large chunk of the public airwaves to the same giant phone and cable companies that control high-speed Internet access for 96 percent of American home users. Don't let the FCC turn over these airwaves to the same price-gouging network giants that control wired access. We need a new alternative to DSL and cable. The FCC must use this wireless opportunity to connect more Americans to an open, neutral and accessible Internet. Labels: Corporate Reform, Media Bias, save the internet
